Buttercream Frosting

Cream butter and shortening with mixer. Gradually add pwd. Sugar 1 cup at a time beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar is mixed in, icing appears dry. Add milk. Beat at high speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with damp cloth until you’re ready to decorate. For best results, keep icing in frig when not in use.

Works great for decorating b-day cakes. Add desired food coloring. For variety, can use almond extract instead of vanilla.
